Florida Drug Alcohol Traffic Awareness Course
Florida is among a number of states that enables parents to choose if they want to teach their kids driver education or not. Several parents opt to just take their teens to a state approved Florida driver education course because that is how most people do it. Countless teens however, live in areas where a driver education school may not be close by. Allowing parents to teach driver education to their kids helps solve the problem of driving many miles to and from a school who offers this course. In addition, it gives parents the ability to be involved in every step of the process of their teen learning how to drive.
Every first time driver in Florida must take a D.A.T.A (Drug Alcohol Traffic Awareness) course as well in order to obtain a learner’s permit. This is a four hour long course which goes over things such as the basic understanding of drugs, alcohol, and traffic safety. You must then pass a written exam also before applying for a learner’s permit. Several students do not pass this test the first time because of the difficulty. Once you do pas and you are the at the age of fifteen, you can then receive a learner’s permit.
Parents and their teens should go on the Driver Education Online website to take these courses. This website offers both the Florida Drug Alcohol Traffic Awareness course and the learner’s permit preparatory class. A parent can help assist their children in any areas they may have difficulty with when they teach this course themselves. You can also work at your own pace, so the teen can fully grasp the understanding of every learning objective. By the time it comes around to take the written test, they should be ready to take it head on and pass the first time.
